These gaming locations are flanked by hotels, large event auditoriums, and other services (RV parks, laundries, gas stations, grocery stores, etc.). Close to Albuquerque are 4 major casinos. Within 25 miles of Santa Fe are 3 major casinos. These larger casinos feature celebrity entertainers. Somewhat further away are casinos such as the Mescalero Apache Reservation complex in Southern New Mexico near Ruidoso which also has a quarter horse racing track. Another notable location is the Taos Pueblo gaming facility right outside Taos and 20 minutes from Taos Ski Valley. Liquor is illegal on Native American lands so there is no alcohol in their casinos. Most, however, have very nice buffets and other food services.
